Year 12 Advanced — lesson excerpt
Find and classify the stationary
points of y = x³ − 6x² + 9x
dy/dx = 3x² − 12x + 9
= 3(x − 1)(x − 3)
dy/dx = 0 → x = 1, x = 3
d²y/dx² = 6x − 12
x = 1 → −6 < 0
x = 3 → 6 > 0

The Alliance Method
Learn it. Practise it. Master it.
Maths results come from clarity, practice and feedback — not simply from more hours of study. Every student moves through the same four stages, every week.
Diagnose
Identify gaps using topic checklists and targeted questions, so lessons start where the problem actually is.
Teach for understanding
Clear explanations and worked examples, with insight into why each method works — not just what to write down.
Train like the HSC
Timed exam-style sets with marking guidance and model solutions, so exam conditions stop being a surprise.
Refine weekly
Feedback, error logs and next-step planning every week, so the same mistake doesn’t reach the trials.
What we teach
Three courses. One syllabus. No filler.
Mathematics Advanced
Band 6 strategy + technique
Tailored exam-style questions that break the complexities of problem solving down into a simple, repeatable system.
Mathematics Extension 1
In-depth walkthroughs + guides
Hundreds of questions built to challenge understanding of key concepts and expose common pitfalls, all available on the student portal.
Mathematics Extension 2
Proof + challenging E4 problems
Comprehensive walkthroughs of the theory, so students build genuine conceptual understanding of the hardest content in the course.

Before you book
What parents ask us first.
Where do lessons happen?
Face-to-face at our Drummoyne rooms — Stores 6–7, 105 Victoria Road, Drummoyne NSW 2047 — or live online with a shared whiteboard. Many families mix the two across the year.
Is the first session really free?
Yes. The first tutoring session is complimentary. We use it to diagnose where the gaps actually are, and you decide afterwards whether to continue. There’s no obligation.
My child is already struggling in Year 11. Is it too late?
Rarely. Most students who are behind in Stage 6 have a gap somewhere in Years 9 and 10 that was never closed. The diagnostic stage is built to find it, and we’ll tell you honestly what the timeline looks like from there.
Do you follow the new HSC syllabus?
Yes — Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 are all taught to the current NSW syllabus, and lessons are timed around your child’s own school assessment calendar.
